Former Okla. Democratic House leader Won't Run Again (Jan 18, 2012)

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - The former Democratic leader in the Oklahoma House of Representatives says he won't seek a sixth term in office.

Rep. Danny Morgan of Prague said Wednesday he intends to spend more time working for his family-owned oil business, Morgan Well Service.

Morgan was first elected in 2002 and served as the House Minority Leader from 2006 to 2010. He could have run for a sixth and final term in office in November before being forced out by term limits.

Morgan represents District 32, which includes most of Lincoln County and the communities of Chandler, Stroud, Davenport and Meeker.

Morgan's successor as House Minority Leader - Rep. Scott Inman - says he's saddened by the news and described Morgan as a "consensus-builder" who transcended party lines.
