Morgan Trial Deliberations Continue (Mar 01, 2012)

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Jury deliberations in the trial of the former leader of the Oklahoma Senate have concluded for the day.

A 12-member jury deliberated for just under three hours Thursday in the bribery and extortion trial of former Oklahoma Senate President Pro Tem Mike Morgan.

Morgan is accused of taking more than $400,000 in return for his influence on bills. Prosecutors lodged bribery and extortion charges against Morgan, but he says the money he received was for legal services. He and a co-defendant pleaded not guilty and in testimony this week denied the allegations.

Jurors will resume deliberations at 9 a.m. Friday.
