Governor Releases Business Survey (Apr 04, 2012)

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - An online survey of Oklahoma businesses indicates most business leaders believe the state provides a good climate for entrepreneurs.

Results of the survey were released Wednesday by Gov. Mary Fallin and state Commerce Secretary Dave Lopez.

The survey began Dec. 1 and - among other things - asked what businesses thought about their prospects for growth in the state and how they rate Oklahoma's strengths. It also asked employers what improvements they need to help their businesses grow.

The survey found that about one-third of Oklahoma businesses plan to hire workers in 2012. The state's unemployment rate in February dropped to 6 percent and is one of the nation's lowest.

But more than half of the company executives who took the survey are less than positive about state government services.
