OKLAHOMA CITY - U.S. Department of Labor figures released Tuesday show Oklahoma City has the lowest unemployment rate in the nation.

The February numbers for large metro areas with over one million residents place Oklahoma City’s metropolitan statistical area unemployment rate for February at 5.8 percent. That ties it with Washington, D-C.

Tulsa's unemployment rate improved from 7.0 percent to 6.9 percent.

The state’s unemployment rate improved by a tenth of a percent over January to 6.3 percent. There was no change in the national unemployment rate at 8.3 percent.
