OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Officials at Will Rogers World Airport say an increase in passengers is causing longer lines during the early morning hours.

The Oklahoma City airport says passenger traffic in March was up nearly 7 percent over last year. Airport spokeswoman Karen Carney says more passengers are traveling early in the morning.

The airport says nearly 25 percent of its daily traffic comes between 5:30 a.m. and 7 a.m. Depending on the day of the week, security checkpoint waits can vary from 30 minutes to 50 minutes.

Carney says people who are accustomed to showing up 45 minutes before takeoff may not make their flight in time. The Transportation Security Administration recommends that passengers arrive 90 minutes before takeoff.
