Fallin Endorses Romney (May 09, 2012)

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin welcomed Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney to the Sooner State and promised her "full endorsement and support" of the former Massachusetts governor.

During a press conference Wednesday at the Oklahoma Republican Party headquarters, Fallin praised Romney for his support of the energy industry and "free-market principles."

Romney visited Oklahoma after making a stop earlier in the day at an oil and gas company in Colorado. He was expected to attend a fundraiser Wednesday evening with Harold Hamm, chairman and CEO of Oklahoma City-based Continental Resources.

Romney finished second to Rick Santorum in Oklahoma's March 6 presidential primary election, getting 28 percent of the vote to 34 percent for Santorum. Newt Gingrich received 27 percent of the vote.
