Name Released in Fire Fatality (Aug 15, 2012)

NORMAN, Okla. (AP) - The Oklahoma medical examiner's office has released the name of a woman killed in this month's wildfire in Cleveland County.

The medical examiner's office identified the victim as 67 year-old Linda Zoldoske. Her badly burned body was found in her home on Aug. 4. It's the only reported death in the wildfires that swept through parts of the state earlier this month.

The medical examiner determined that Zoldoske died of thermal burns, and her death was ruled an accident.

Oklahoma City television station KWTV reports that Zoldoske's home was in an evacuated area where several homes caught fire and burned. Neighbors tell the TV station that they tried to convince Zoldoske to leave her house as the wildfire approached, but she refused.
