GOP Strengthens Political Hand in Congress (Nov 06, 2012)
Oklahoma is sending all Republicans to represent the state in the U.S. House. Westville plumber Markwayne Mullin won the 2nd Congressional Seat for the GOP. Democratic Congressman Dan Boren decided not to seek re-election. Political newcomer Jim Bridenstine has kept Oklahoma's 1st Congressional District in Republican hands. In his first race as an incumbent Congressman James Lankford defeated Tom Guild in the 5th District. Republicans Tom Cole in the 4th District and Frank Lucas in the 3rd District handily defeated their opponents. The GOP now controls the entire Congressional delegation and all statewide elected offices in the state.
