State Panel Certifies Executive Budget Revenue (Dec 20, 2012)

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - A state panel has certified that Gov. Mary Fallin will have about $7 billion in available revenue to develop her budget proposal for the upcoming fiscal year.

The State Board of Equalization voted Thursday to approve an early revenue estimate that shows the governor will have about $214 million more than last year to include in her budget.

Fallin says public education and public safety will be a priority in her budget, and she also intends to again propose an income tax cut.

The governor's office uses the December revenue projections to develop the executive budget, which Fallin will present to lawmakers when the legislative session begins in February.

The board will meet again in February for a final certification of the amount of revenue lawmakers will have available.
