Winter Weather Advisory Issued for Parts of Okla. (Dec 31, 2012)

NORMAN, Okla. (AP) - A winter weather advisory is in effect for parts of Oklahoma as some of the state could see freezing drizzle, snow and sleet.

The National Weather Service in Norman says Monday that the advisory will remain in effect until noon Tuesday for areas including Cherokee, Enid, Medford, Perry and Ponca City.

A mix of snow, sleet and light rain is expected to fall Monday.

Forecasters say light snow is possible late Monday into Tuesday.Forecasters warn that ice and snow could create slick roadways, but major icing problems aren't expected as temperatures are forecast to remain above freezing through at least 6 p.m. Monday.
