OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - An Oklahoma City restaurant owner who played a key role in allegations that Oklahoma County's district attorney accepted an illegal campaign donation has agreed to a deferred prosecution to avoid being tried for perjury.

State Attorney General Scott Pruitt says 42-year-old Wade Starr agreed to the terms Friday. Starr agreed to pay $2,500 to a victims' compensation fund and perform 100 hours of community service.

Starr was indicted in June by Oklahoma's multicounty grand jury on three counts of perjury. Pruitt says Starr admitted falsifying an affidavit that claimed a supporter of Oklahoma County District Attorney David Prater paid for a $10,000 victory party following Prater's election in 2006.

The grand jury found that the event was not financed by the supporter and that there was no campaign violation.
